UFA, 31 October 2019. /Bashinform News Agency/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
Two unique performances were held at the Mustai Karim National Youth Theater. Blind and visually impaired spectators, along with sighted theater-goers, were able to "see" the "Humiliated" performance and the inclusive performance "I am a fist. I AM A-N-N-A".
This was made possible due to a special system and equipment of the Bashkir Republican Special Library for the Blind. Recall that Ufa has become one of the 27 regions where the “Special Vision” program is being successfully implemented.
“A professional video description presenter helped to understand the production. In the pauses between the replicas of the actors, he described what was happening on the stage. A detailed description of the scenery, costumes of the artists, their emotions, movements made it possible to “show” the performance to the blind”, the theater representatives inform.
The "Humiliated" performance (based on the novel by Zainab Bisheva directed by Musalim Kulbaev) is a drama about the growing up, formation, and rise of a small person during the historical upheavals of the pre-revolutionary years. The inclusive performance “I am a fist. I AM A-N-N-A" (based on the play by Martha Raitses directed by Olga Musina) –is a life story of a teenager with special needs. The role of Anna was performed by a girl with a hearing impairment Alisa Ivanova.
