International Day of disabled people is marked on December 3
The International Day of disabled people is marked on December 3. The UNO General Assembly has announced this day in 1992 at the end of the Disabled People Decade of the United Nations Organization (1983-1993).
Holding of the Day of disabled people on December 3 is directed to attraction of public attention to problems of disabled people, to protection of their dignity, rights and well-being and to attraction of public attention to the advantages it receives from participation of disabled people in political, social, economic and cultural life.
According to information of the Russian Pension Fund in RB about 319 thousand people with restricted health abilities, including 14523 children, live in Bashkortostan for today, as it is reported on the site of Ministry for labor and social protection RB.
Republican goal-oriented program “Accessible Environment” is launched in Bashkortostan in April 2011 – according to this program people with disabilities receive various measures of state support – provision with technical means for rehabilitation, sanatorium-and-spa treatment and preferences in housing and communal services payments.
