Action “St George Ribbon” starts in Russia
The all-Russian action “St George Ribbon”, dated to celebration of the Victory Day, started in Russia. It will last till May 9.
Within its frames volunteers will distribute black-yellow ribbons among people. Wearing of this sign will become a symbol of patriotism and memory of all deceased during the Great Patriotic War. Several thousand St George Ribbons will be given out in towns and villages of Bashkortostan. In opinion of the Minister for youth policy and sport RB Ruslan Gizatullin wearing of this sign unites veterans of war with younger generation.
For the reference: for the first time the action “St George Ribbon” was initiated by some news agencies and youth public organizations in 2005, when Russia celebrated the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory. Since then more than 60 million ribbons have been distributed all over the world.
