Problems of holding International Children Games in Ufa were discussed in Moscow
Delegation of the International Children Games Committee, headed by the President of the Committee Torstein Rush, arrived in Moscow, in the Representative Office of Bashkortostan under the President of Russia, the press-service of the Moscow Office RB reported. The staff of the delegation also included Vice-President of the International Children Games Committee David Gilbert and Igor Topol, the Committee’s general secretary Richard Smith and the Committee’s member Maximilian Veko. All of them arrived in Russia from different countries in order to sign the contract for holding the VI Winter International Children Games-2013 in Ufa.
The day before the delegation has held a wok meeting with the Minister for sport, tourism and youth policy of Russia Vitaly Mutko jointly with the leadership of the Ministry for youth policy and sport RB. The deputy director of the Department for tourist activity and international cooperation under the Russian Ministry for sport, tourism and youth policy Roman Alexandrov, the deputy director of the Department for science, innovational policy and education Constantine Vyrupaev, the consultant of the President RB Victoria Sergeeva and the Minister for youth policy and sport RB Andre Ivanuta were also taking part in the negotiations.
Vitaly Mutko has said thanks to the Committee of the International Children Games for the right to hold the VI Winter International Children Games-2013 in Russia, Ufa. The Minister has mentioned that Russia is interested in holding big sports international competitions on its territory – such as the XXII Olympic and the XI Paralympic Winter Games-2014 in Sochi, the XXVII World Summer Student Games-2013 in Kazan, the world football championship-2018 and the world track and field championship-2013 in Moscow.
International Children Games are one of such projects. This is a big sports competition for children and teenagers at the age of 12-15, held with assistance of the International Olympic Committee and aimed at consolidation of friendly relations between children and youth from different countries. The decision that the VI Winter International Children Games would be held in Ufa was made on August 3, 2011, in the Scottish town of Lanarkshire. The Games will be held in Ufa on February 26 – March 3, 2013. The competitions, which 800-100 sportsmen from 35 countries expected to take part in, will be held under patronage of the President RB with assistance of the Russian Ministry for sport, tourism and youth policy. The Games’ program includes hockey, figure skating, short-track, ski racing, sports orienteering, snowboarding and Alpine skiing.
The official ceremony of signing the agreement for holding the VI Winter International Children Games will take place in Ufa one of these days. The leadership of the Games Committee will arrive in Ufa after staying in Moscow on March 5-11, 2012. As it is expected, they will inspect the readiness of the city for holding the Games’ competitions – readiness of sports objects, hotels and sites for holding various cultural programs.
