The volume of atmospheric emissions in Bashkiria in 2011 amounted to 1105 thousand tons


According to preliminary data the volumes of atmospheric emissions in Bashkiria amounted to 1105 thousand tons in 2011. 390 thousand tons presumably fall on stationary sources and the share of movable sources is equal to 715 thousand tons, the Ministry for nature management and ecology RB reported today.

Ecological situation in the region, including atmospheric air, is in many respects determined by its industrial potential. At present time there are more than four thousand industrial enterprises and organizations, having the sources, which pollute our atmosphere, in the Republic. About 70% of these enterprises belong to fuel-energy complex.

The Minister for nature management and ecology RB Azat Kutliakhmetov reports the number of complaints about high gas content in the air was much higher in 2011, especially coming from residents of the northern part of Ufa and from the towns of Sterlitamac, Salavat and Ishimbay. Inobservance of environmental legislation requirements by local industrial enterprises was the main ground of numerous appeals.

It is worth reminding that in order to ensure ecological security in the region the interdepartmental council for public safety RB has made the decision to equip the sources of atmospheric emissions at big industrial enterprises with automated inspection sensors. This step allows monitoring atmosphere 24 hours per day in real time mode.

The Ministry for nature management and ecology RB believes that installation of such sensors is good for enterprises themselves since in such case the “heroes” of air pollutions can be clearly seen and detected, so the claims to others will be automatically removed. Such project is developed in Sterlitamac since 2009 and already proved high efficiency.
