The first arts festival of Volga federal district “Open Volga Zone” is opened in Moscow
The first arts festival of Volga federal district “Open Volga Zone” is opened in the State Kremlin Palace, Moscow, today. The festival united the best artists from all 14 regions in the staff of Volga federal district on one stage. The wide-scaled gala-show consisted of more than 40 various performances. More than 1500 artists arrived in Moscow in a whole.
Republic of Bashkortostan was presented by the National Symphonic Orchestra, the State Folk Dance Ensemble by Faizi Gaskarov, the pop-show “Victoria”, the ethnic-rock band “ARGYMAK” and by the Bashkir flutist Marseille Saitov.
The arts and crafts exhibition started working in the foyer of the Kremlin Palace and it collected the best samples of national art – wares, made of leather and stone, ceramics, traditional national embroidery, toys, painting, photo-art and many other things. The Ufa's production association “AGIDEL” demonstrated wooden and stone souvenirs and fur head dress. The President of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov and the Prime-Minister of Tatarstan Ildar Khalikov inspected the exhibition.
The Minister of culture of Russia Alexander Avdeev and the Plenipotentiary of the President of Russia in Volga federal district Gregory Rapota opened the festival. The Plenipotentiary has mentioned in his speech of welcome that the festival “Open Volga Zone” is an example of unity of the multinational population of not just Volga federal district but of Russia in a whole.
It is planned the festival will become annual.
