Bashkiria needs own production of feedstock for light industry
It is quite possible that own feedstock production for light industry will be launched in Bashkiria soon. This problem was raised today during the talk of the President RB Rustem Khamitov with the workers of Ufa knitting factory.
Wool and viscose are the main feedstock for light industry and, for example, Ufa knitting factory needs 15-20 tons of it every month. But now both wool and viscose are imported either from other Russian regions or from abroad and in both cases it comes out rather expensive. Besides, the quality of this feedstock isn’t always satisfactory. Transport expenses also substantially influence on the output cost as well as the feedstock’s customs clearance. All this can be avoided, making the knitwork cheaper, if the Republic would launch its own good quality feedstock production for the local light industry. There are several light industry enterprises in the Republic and all of them are forced to work with the imported feedstock, so the necessity to organize local production of wool and viscose is evident. The enterprises from the neighboring regions, also interested in good quality and acceptable prices of the feedstock, mustn’t be missed too.
“We have to know precisely what you need and how much” – Rustem Khamitov said to the factory’s workers – “and after that we’ll calculate can this project become profitable for the region or not. Now you have to introduce your business-plan and after that we can start talking, basing on your figures and calculations”.
