Oscar Abdrazakov: “We have to restore the bygone power of film industry”
In opinion of the Ministry of culture RB Oscar Abdrazakov the cinema industry in the Republic has underwent the destructive tendencies most of all, as he has written in his “Live Journal” blog.
“It can be explained by quite objective reasons and one of which is total refusal of population fr om cinema services” – he writes – “The majority of cinema theaters and rural clubs failed to stand the competition with the new systems of individual view. In Soviet times at least four and a half thousand cinema units were working on the territory RB and the cinema halls were available in all village clubs. Now we have to restore the bygone power of our cinema industry and for that we need non-standard approaches with the use of modern cinema systems and technologies”.
The Minister sites the multi-hall commercial cinema theaters, having good profits, as one of such examples.
The possibility to establish special structure (cinema commission), which would service Russian and foreign cinematographers can become another direction in development of cinema industry in opinion of the Minister.
“Such structures are available in France, Germany and Italy, where such organizations work for more than 10 years and the principles of the similar commissions in the United States, wh ere they successfully work for more than 50 years, lie in the base of their activity. Such commissions, working in the staff of Russian cinema industry, will coordinate permits for shooting, supply the cinematographers with transport, equipment and accommodation for shooting crews. Such countries as Romania and Hungary actively work in such directions and the budgets of their municipalities earn million dollars on such activity”.
The Minister also tells about the necessity to make festival and contest movement more active. Thus, the visual art contest “The Earth and People” is planned to hold in the Republic jointly with the Ministry of communication and mass communications RB already this spring.
