Presentation of the fifth volume of “The History of Bashkir Nation” has taken place in Ufa


Presentation of the fifth volume of “The History of Bashkir Nation” has taken place on April 8 in the Congress-Hall, Ufa, with participation of the authors, the representatives of the Academy of Sciences RB and the Institute of history, language and literature RB, which won the grant for preparation of this 7-volume work. The first volume considers the period from the most ancient times and till the IV century AD, the second – from the middle of the V – till the middle of the XVI centuries, the third – from the second half of the XVI and till the XVIII century, the fourth – the XIX century, the sixth – 1941-85 years and the seventh – since 1985 and till nowadays. The first volume was published in 2009. The fifth one – in 2010 and its publication was dated to the 20th anniversary of the State Sovereignty Declaration RB and to the 120th anniversary of the prominent Turk scientist, the founder of Bashkir autonomy Akhmet-Zaki Vaidi. The fifth volume covers the period between 1900 and 1940 – the crucial period in the history of Bashkir nation, which as well as many other nations of the country, has survived the after-effects of all revolutions and wars in the beginning of the XX century and destruction of its traditional way of life as a result of the accelerated socialist construction.

The Director of the Institute of history, language and literature RB Firdaus Khisamitdinova has reported that along with the fifth volume the third, the fourth and the sixth volumes will be published in 2011 and the second and the seventh volumes – in 2012. “Therefore this wide-scaled historical project will be over in 2012” – she stated – “I hope this fundamental scientific investigation of the Bashkir nation’s history will be left for our progeny”.
