“United Russia” starts new party project “Education”

“Wages of teachers will soon go up by 30%” – the Chairman of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin has stated at the meeting with the State Duma speaker Boris Gryzlov, the deputy chairman of the Federation Council Svetlana Orlova, the Vice-Premier Vyacheslaw Volodin and with the State Duma deputies Vladimir Pekhtin, Arthur Chilingarov, Valerie Ryazansky and Tatiana Yakovleva. Vladimir Putin said at the meeting with the “United Russia” activists that he had already ordered to start a new program in sphere of education. It will be a new party project “Education”, initiated by the leader of “United Russia”.

“The rise of education quality should become one of the main points in the program” – the secretary of “United Russia” regional political council, chairman of the State Council RB Constantine Tolkatchev said, speaking on April 7 at the portback election gathering in the town of Yanaul – “If we want Russia to be powerful and competitive country, we have to invest money in education, repair schools, supply these schools with the newest equipment, open internet-classes and raise the prestige of teaching”.

The rise of teachers’ wages should become the important result in modernization of the education sphere, as M-r Tolkatchev stated. While the salaries in economics go up, they remain on the same level at schools.

“School means people, working here, first of all, so the decision that the federal center takes all expenses, related to repair and equipping of our schools, which were the responsibility of regional and municipal budgets before, upon itself is more than timely” – M-r Tolkatchev stated – “Now the regions may allocate their free means for the 30%-rise of teachers’ wages in order to make these wages maximally close to the average wage level in economics, i.e. about 21 thousand rubles”.
