Three education institutions have become UNESCO associated schools in Bashkiria

Three education institutions RB are included into the list of UNESCO associated schools: the Ufa school N34, the Bashkir gymnasium N144 and the Ufa Children’s Art Palace by V. Komarov. The international Paris certificates were solemnly presented to the directors of these institutions on Tuesday, April 5, within the frames of the visit of the Russian Commission on UNESCO affairs to Bashkortostan by the Commission’s Secretary Gregory Ordjonikidze.

This certificate proves the recognition of the unique education institutions in the region on international level. The status of UNESCO associated school opens wide opportunities for creative exchange, professional growth of pupils and all-sided support of young talents.

Forestalling the awarding ceremony Gregory Ordjonikidze has mentioned that the UNESCO movement received wide impulse in Russia.

“All UNESCO initiatives meet serious understanding now” – he said – “Because Russian UNESCO chairs have to become the centers of progressive scientific experience, contributing to development of innovational processes in the country”.

Talking about Bashkiria Gregory Ordjonikidze has called the Republic progressive from the point of view of UNESCO movement.

“You successfully work on many UNESCO movements, holding plenty of interesting actions and meetings with your colleagues from other associated schools”.

The national coordinator of UNESCO associated schools Nellie Pruss has said that at present time there are about 200 UNESCO associated schools in Russia, including 13 such schools in Bashkortostan. As she said, other five regional schools will be certified in the nearest future: Ufa gymnasiums NN64 and 93, the gymnasium N1 in Kumertau and two other schools.

The project “UNESCO Associated Schools” is one of the most successful and long-term projects, initiated by this organization in 1953. Its participants work on four main directions – spreading of information about UNO and UNESCO, education for stable progress, peace and human rights and inter-cultural dialogue.

Further the guests intend to visit the central Ufa mosque to hold a meeting with the representatives of the Central Clerical Muslim Dept of Russia and will watch the concert of the masters of Arts RB.

The excursions to the National Museum RB and the Museum of archeology and ethnography RB, the Bashkir institute of social technologies and to the Bashkir State Pedagogical University by Miftahetdin Akmullah are scheduled on April 6.
