Germany will open a plant for tire recycling in Ufa

Germany intends to invest in construction of the plant for tire recycling in Ufa. The prospects of such cooperation were discussed on March 3 during the meeting of the German delegation with the President RB Rustem Khamitov.

The project is initiated by the German company “ERMAFA”, specializing in production of the machines and equipment for recycling of polymers and rubber. The President of the company Uve Hartmann says the company found a support among Ufa business circles, ready to join the project.

The assumed volume of investments in new construction is estimated at 300 million rubles and the plant will recycle 400 thousand old tires annually. The final products can be used in the bitumen industry.

Though the company fr om Germany works in Russia already for a long time and has good business contacts in Saint-Petersburg and Nizhniy Novgorod, it hasn’t yet opened any such production on the territory of Russia.

“The project in Ufa will be the pilot one” – M-r Hartmann said – “We found more competent partners here. In the future we intend to open similar plants in other Russian regions too”.

The assumed area of the production site will be about 15 thousand square meters and now the company already negotiates with Ufa administration concerning the exact place, wh ere the plant is to be located.

M-r Hartmann appealed to Rustem Khamitov with the request to make favorable tax and legal conditions for launching this project. The President RB says the German company will receive everything necessary for making this project a reality, since Bashkiria is also deeply interested in this initiative. Utilization of old tires will favorably affect the ecology of the region. It is expected the old tires will be received from local population free but in order the car owners would send their old tires to utilization instead of dumping, it is necessary to issue the law, stipulating for a penalty for such actions. The plant is promised to be ecologically harmless. The company “ERMAFA” exists since 1837. At present time it works in 40 countries. Along with the tire recycling the company intends to start one more investment project in Bashkiria – production of energy-efficient wall panels.
