Bashkir agrarians will take part in Congress of Russian farmers


The representatives of Bashkir farmings are leaving for the city of Tambov today for taking part in the XXII Congress of Russian farmers. The delegation is headed by the first deputy Minister of agriculture RB Nikolai Kovalenko. The farmers’ forum will be officially opened on March 2 and on the eve of the spring sowing campaign the farmers intend to discuss the present state of things and problems of Russian farmers, the rise of the role of the state and farmers’ organizations in development of small business in the countryside.

Delegates of the regional unions and associations, representatives of the Russian Government and Russian Ministry of agriculture, other ministries and departments, deputes of the Federal Assembly, governors, heads of regional agricultural companies, representatives of the partnership organizations and foreign guests will take part in the Congress.

According to information of the press-service of the Ministry of agriculture RB the Congress has to solve the problems on the increase of the contribution of small business to the population’s food provision and to restoration of Russian villages.

The farmers in Russia produce more than 55% of internal Russian foodstuff. The area of their agricultural lands is about 30 million hectares. For the last ten years this area increased two times. The average dimension of the farmer’s land lot also increased two times, making up 108 hectares now.

The rates of the production growth in the farmer’s sector is 4,3 times higher than in the whole branch on average. Even in dry and lean 2010 the farmer’s share in grain production has increased by almost 1,5%, as compared with the previous year, making up 22,3%. For ten months of 2010 the cattle livestock in the farmer’s sector has gone up by 15% and it means that this sector favorably differs from all others.
