Alexei Sherbatsky: “We need efficient instruments for small business development and support in Bashkiria”

The problems of small business in the town of Kumertau, Bashkiria, were discussed at the meeting of the chairman of the Business Organizations Association Council RB Alexei Sherbatsky with the members of the Business Union of this town on Tuesday.

The main problems the business people of Kumertau face today are quite typical for the business communities in all other Republican settlements: the inaccessibility of credit resources for small business, high taxes, rise of tariffs on energy resources and numerous administrative barriers. At present time about 2500 small and medium business companies are registered on the territory of the town and approximately every third citizen is engaged in this sphere, i.e. more than 9000 people. The municipal program for business undertakings support works in the town and local budget allocates certain means for its development, the deputy head of Kumertau administration reported.

Speaking before the Kumertau business community Alexei Sherbatsky told about the activity of the Business Association and in particular about those legislative initiatives, submitted to the authority. As he said, now the authority tries to choose the most efficient instruments for support and development of small business in the Republic, for improvement of its business climate and for the rise of the investment activity in the region. Besides, he urged the business community to offer its proposals and wishes more actively. “You mustn’t keep silence. The authority understands that small business faces numerous obstacles and tries to help us in every possible way and our task now is to prompt the officials what should be done and how” – he said.
