Happy Library Day!
The professional holiday of librarians is celebrated in Russia today and on this occasion the President RB Murtaza Rakhimov congratulated all employees of the Republican libraries:
“Let me heartily congratulate you with the professional holiday – the all-Russian Library Day!
This holiday, established in 1995 in accordance with the Decree of the President of Russian Federation, symbolizes the acknowledgement of the outstanding significance of libraries in spiritual and cultural development of our society. The libraries are really indispensable when obtaining new knowledge, mastering new professions and raising the level of one’s skills. A modern library today represents real educational and cultural center, actively using the newest information technologies.
More than 2 million readers use the services of the libraries in our Republic every year and more than 53 million books, magazines and other documents are given to them by the librarians. With the purpose to improve the librarianship the employees of our libraries have a chance to receive the grants of the President RB along with the activists of culture and art. The Republican program for development of librarianship in Bashkortostan in 2010-2014 is approved at the beginning of this year.
Please, accept my words of deep thankfulness for your devotion to your high-minded profession and your enlightener mission! You may be by right proud of that role you play in cultural, intellectual and spiritual life of the Republic. Let your love in books and readers find live response and inspire you to creation and innovations!
I wish you strong health, well-being, happiness and every success in your tireless labor!
The President of Republic of Bashkortostan Murtaza Rakhimov” – said in the Presidential congratulation.
