Bashkortostan was worthily represented at the international festival in Cairo

Bashkir students of the Al-Azhar International Islamic University took part in the 1st International Students' Festival held in Cairo. The organizer of this event was Cairo University.

According to Ruslan Sayakhov, the deputy chairman of the RB Clerical Governance for Muslims, the presentation of 15 states was organized within the framework of the festival. Owing to materials from Bashkortostan, the exposition of the Russian Federation was one of the richest and most interesting.

"In Autumn of the last year our students went to study to Cairo and took a lot of exhibition materials with them," Ruslan-hazrat said. "These were craftwork, national costumes, musical instruments, photo- and video materials about our republic. The most part of the exhibition materials was given by the Bashkir State Teachers' Training University."

According to the participants of the festival, representatives of various countries were very interested in photos by Ramil Kilmamatov, the chairman of the Russian Photography Artists' Union, the Honoured Worker of Russia and Bashkortostan. Many participants were also interested to try the Bashkir men's headdress on, listen to kurai and, of course, to taste Bashkir honey.

"It is especially pleasant for us that the chancellor of Cairo University Hassan Kamel presented students from Bashkortostan with letters of commendation and souvenirs," Ruslan Sayakhov pointed out. "At the festival's closing ceremony Hassan Kamel said about his intention to organize the similar festival next year, but to make it a weeklong instead of a three-day-long like the current one. We plan to present even more interesting exposition about Bashkortostan."
