Delegation from Bashkortostan will have a meeting with students in Cairo

The delegation fr om Bashkortostan in the staff of six people, organized by the Clerical Muslim Dept RB, will visit Egypt at the end of March, where it intends to hold meetings with the students from Bashkortostan at the International Islamic University Al-Azkhar in Cairo.

“As soon as 2010 is declared the Republic Year in Bashkortostan we intend to collect photo- and video-materials about life of our students abroad, which can be demonstrated to their relatives later. Besides, we are going to obtain further insight to the problems of our students and to do what we can help, if it necessary” – the deputy chairman of the Clerical Muslim Dept RB Ruslan Sayakhov reported to “Bashinform”.

The staff of the delegation RB includes prominent cultural and public activists, such as the Vice-President of the Charitable Fund by Kinza Arslanov Salavat Ulbarisov and well-known photo-painter Ramil Kilmamatov. The group of the women, leaving Ufa for Cairo, is headed by the director of the shop “SALLYAM” Alfia Idrisova, who intends to rub shoulders with the girls from Bashkortostan, studying at Al-Azkhar (about 15).

In total complexity about 50 students from Bashkortostan study at Al-Azkhar at present time. 15 students were doing practical work in different regions of Bashkortostan last summer. They’ve received very favorable comments from their imams.

Besides, the students, studying in Cairo, have very important mission — they have to organize presentations of Bashkortostan abroad. It is necessary to raise the image of the Republic and the country because the Arab world doesn’t yet know much about culture of Russia and its regions. For example, just few people have an impression of Bashkortostan, wh ere the majority of Russian ethnic Muslims live.
