KUMAPP demonstrates modernized helicopters KA-226 and KA-32


The test flights of new helicopters KA-32A11BC and KA-226T have taken place at the test-flight station of JSC “KUMERTAUSSKOE aviation production enterprise” (KUMAPP). At present time the helicopter KA-226T passes certification tests for further serial production, “RIA “NOVOSTI” reports.

The first deputy manager of the enterprise Vyacheslaw Kovalev reports the helicopter is meant for the aviation squadron of Moscow police. As for the helicopter KA-32A11BC, 182 machines are planned to be delivered for Portugal, Bulgaria, Spain and Moldova within the period till 2015, where the Russian helicopter has recommended itself quite well as the machine for fire and life-saving works.

As M-r Kovalev reported, now the enterprise is supplied with the contracts for five years ahead. In 2009 the plant has amortized all debts on taxes and wages. The program of technical rearmament is launched at the enterprise and in 2010 more than 200 million rubles for renovation of the obsolete equipment will be appropriated. Besides, the plant will become a participant of the federal program “Modernization of the defense-industrial complex enterprises till 2020”. This program presumes allocation of additional nine billion rubles for modernization of its production capacities.

JSC “KUMERTAUSSKOE aviation production enterprise” is found in the staff of the holding “Helicopters of Russia” and specializes itself in production of the helicopters with the coaxial rotor scheme. The plant produces all types of helicopters of the Russian Navy (KA-27 and KA-31 families) and the civil multi-purpose helicopters KA-32A11BC, KA-226 and KA-226T.

The new helicopter KA-226T is equipped with the engines of the French company “Turbomeca” and with the newest onboard equipment.
