Rail Sarbaev: Republican agricultural complex will receive state aid
In spite of difficult financial situation both in the country and in the Republic because of the crisis Bashkortostan increased state backing of its agricultural complex three times in 2009, as compared with 2007. Republican agricultural enterprises received 3,5 billion rubles of state subsides. In 2010 the amounts of agriculture state backing won’t be lowered, Prime-Minister of Government RB Rail Sarbaev stated today.
“Under the present pricing policy the enterprises of Russian agriculture can’t stand the competition with the foreign producers without state aid and this aid is to the fore” – he said.
The state aid helped to minimize the after-effects of the drought in trans-Ural zone this year. Same aid will help the agricultural complex to reach the last year indices. Because of weather conditions the grain harvest-2009 will be lower than in 2008, when more than five million tons of grains have been harvested. But thanks to good sugar-beet harvests the Republic will be able to reach 100%-indices.
6,5 billion rubles are allocated in the draft budget-2010 for support of agriculture, not counting the subsides.
“We’ll give Republican agriculture a new push: we will finance acquisitions of machinery and cattle and private auxiliary farmings will receive our aid too” – Rail Sarbaev stated. He explained that backing of auxiliary farmings was necessary because providing agricultural enterprises with new machines led to reduction of manual labor, i.e. to the release of working hands. The Government will finance private farmings to avoid departures of free toilers to the urban zones. At present time about 40% of the Republican population lives in the countryside and many of them are engaged only in agriculture.
