All-Russian religious procession "Under a shroud of the most holy Mother of God" crossed the border of Bashkortostan
The All-Russian religious procession "Under a shroud of the most holy Mother of God" devoted to the 430th anniversary of appearance of the icon of the most holy Mother of God in Kazan has crossed the border of Orenburg region and Bashkortostan and is heading now for Kumertau.
According to the leader of the procession Sergey Rakutin, the procession started its way on August 1 fr om Penza. The length of the route comes to 3000 km. The participants are fr om Kursk, Orel, Smolensk, Penza, Saransk, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Orenburg, Moscow, and Odessa. In any weather conditions, they cover 30-50 kilometres every day.
The religious procession will end on November 2 in Chelyabinsk, after that the participants will leave for Kazan where the celebration of the 430th anniversary of appearance of the icon of the most holy Mother of God will take place.
The participants have already covered 1500 km of the whole way. There are also children among them. They halt every 10 kilometres to have rest and take meal.
Orthodox believers meet the participants of the religious procession in every inhabited locality; many of them join the procession. There is an opinion that during the procession one can witness that people are cured from diseases, get rid of bad habits, become successful in work or studying.
