New highway Yekaterinburg - Krasnodar may pass through Bashkiria
The Government of Bashkortostan is negotiating with the Ministry of Transport of Russia on the inclusion of the republic in the project of the state corporation Avtodor for the construction of a high-speed highway that will connect Yekaterinburg and Krasnodar. The Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, announced it at the plenary session of the Transport of the Urals forum.
The length of the new route will be 1.6 thousand km. It will pass through Samara, Saratov, and Volgograd; its construction will begin in 2023. The new road will reduce travel time from the Urals to the Black Sea coast to 33 hours — 10 hours faster than now. It is assumed that the new route will be toll.
Radiy Khabirov said that the M-12 Moscow — Yekaterinburg highway would also pass through Bashkortostan. Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the extension of the Moscow-Kazan highway to Yekaterinburg in his Address to the Federal Assembly. He noted that this route needs to be built by 2024. Avtodor took over the project management.
The republican section of the new high-speed highway M-12, which will be laid from the city of Dyurtyuli towards the village of Achit (Sverdlovsk region), will be about 140 km. This section will pass through four districts — Buraevsky, Baltachevsky, Dyurtyulinsky, and Tatyshlinsky.
In addition, шn the territory of Bashkortostan, it is planned to build a high-speed backup of the M-7 highway from the border with Tatarstan. The new 65 km section will pass through the Ilishevsky, Dyurtyulinsky, and Chekmagushevsky districts, bypassing five settlements — Isametovo, Verkhneyarkeyevo, Layashty, Ishkarovo, and Asyanovo. The construction of the site is planned to start in September 2022 and be completed in April 2024.
