Final turnout in State Duma elections was 51.72% - CEC of Russia
At a meeting on Friday, the Central Election Commission of Russia approved the results of the elections to the State Duma, which were held from September 17 to 19. All 15 CEC members signed the protocol and summary tables containing the voting results.
"The CEC recognized the elections to the State Duma as valid. The voter turnout was 51.72%. The CEC received about 200 appeals about possible falsification of the voting results; all will be checked," Ella Pamfilova, Chairperson of the CEC of Russia, said. "To date, 40 605 ballots have been declared invalid at 157 polling stations in 43 Russian regions. The results of voting at 13 polling stations were completely canceled," Pamfilova noted.
According to the results of the elections to the State Duma, the "United Russia" party received 324 seats, the Communist Party of the Russian Federation — 57, "Fair Russia" — 27, the Liberal Democratic Party — 21, "New People" — 13. "Rodina", "Civic Platform", "Party of Growth" per one each. Self-nominated candidates will receive five seats.
