Bashkiria will host World Cleanup Day #LET'SDOIT2021
On September 25, World Cleanup Day #LET'SDOIT2021 will take place in Bashkiria. As the Ministry of Ecology of the Republic emphasized, a large-scale environmental campaign is dedicated to this day in 70 regions of Russia and 150 countries of the world.
"More than 700 sites in cities and districts of Bashkiria have been identified, where cleanups will be held. The republic will take part in the #LET'SDOIT2021 environmental campaign by uniting public institutions, businesses, municipalities, residents into one team'', Ildar Garifullin, First Deputy Minister of Nature Management and Ecology of Bashkiria, said. "We invite all residents to go outside with colleagues, family, friends and make their part of nature cleaner and more beautiful, because beauty is, first of all, cleanliness."
World Cleanup Day is an annual social action program aimed at fighting waste. At the same time, the emphasis is made on cleaning forests, glades, and the banks of water bodies. Where possible, separate waste collection is organized.
In addition, the participants conduct educational events, promote a modern waste management system, separate collection and recycling, and an environmentally friendly lifestyle.
"Last year, more than 75 thousand residents of the republic took part in the World Cleanup Day campaign #LET'SDOIT2020. Environmental activities took place in all cities and districts of the region, where public organizations, youth movements, representatives of administrations, local activists, eco-volunteers, and caring residents jointly organized cleanups. Due to this, 3.9 thousand cubic meters of garbage have been collected," the department recalled.
