Radiy Khabirov to Paralympians: You are our pride and model for everyone
Yesterday in Ufa, the Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, met with the winners and prize-winners of the 16th Paralympic Summer Games, who represented the republic in Tokyo. At the beginning of the meeting, he congratulated the athletes on bright, impressive victories.
The Head of the Region noted that Bashkortostan was one of the leading regions in the country for the development of Paralympic sports, with many measures taken to make it accessible and attractive. The main role in this work is played by the sports adaptive school of the Paralympic reserve, the Rima Batalova Sports Training Center, and the regional branches of sports federations.
Two-time Paralympic champions Andrei Nikolaev and Bogdan Mozgovoy thanked the Head of the Republic and residents of Bashkortostan for their support.
At the meeting, the athletes expressed their wishes for the construction of an athletics arena in Ufa, the support of coaches, sports doctors, and massage therapists.
Radiy Khabirov instructed the Minister of Sports to collect all these proposals for study so that later, on their basis, to approve a program to support adaptive sports.
The Head of Bashkortostan presented state awards of the republic to athletes and coaches. They, in turn, presented the head of the region with souvenirs — symbols of the XVI Paralympic Summer Games in Tokyo.
The Russian Paralympic delegation included 14 representatives of Bashkortostan (athletics for the sport of the blind, table tennis for persons with intellectual disabilities, table tennis for persons with mobility disabilities, swimming sports for the blind).
According to the results of the Paralympic Games, the athletes of Bashkortostan won 12 medals — 5 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals.
