More than 500 thousand tests were performed at Sterlitamak Covid hospital for half year
In the Clinical and Diagnostic Infection Center of Sterlitamak, about 500 thousand types of research were performed in the first half of 2021.
The laboratory and diagnostic department of the Sterlitamak Clinical and Diagnostic Infectious Disease Center (a branch of the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital) is located in a separate building with a total area of 900.47 sq.m.
The laboratory employs 20 laboratory diagnostics specialists: highly qualified clinical laboratory diagnostics doctors, bacteriologists, and medical laboratory technicians.
Biochemical, hematological, molecular biological, coagulologic, microbiological, and general clinical tests carried out in the laboratory include almost the entire list of possible laboratory tests necessary for the diagnosis, control, and correction of the treatment carried out by our patients. Serological tests to determine antibodies (classes IgM, IgG, IgA-immunoglobulins by enzyme immunoassay) and antigens to infectious agents are performed using a set of equipment for enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).
Molecular biological research for diagnosing viral and bacterial infections is carried out on a set of equipment for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in real-time.
According to Denis Mirgaziev, the chief freelance specialist of the bacteriologist of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the priority areas of the clinical microbiology laboratory are the provision and quality control of quality microbiological studies at all stages of laboratory research.
"The introduction of modern methods of diagnostics of infectious diseases pathogens into the laboratory's work increases the accuracy of diagnostics and reduces the time for conducting laboratory tests due to the use of high technologies. In the future, diagnostics of infectious pathogens will significantly improve the quality of medical care since etiological diagnostics determine etiotropic therapy", Denis Mirgaziev said.
