Radiy Khabirov instructed to ensure security at upcoming major events in Ufa

Radiy Khabirov instructed to ensure security at upcoming major events in Ufa. The Head of the Republic announced his instructions at a joint meeting of the anti-terrorist commission and the region's emergency operations center with the participation of representatives of law enforcement and control and supervisory bodies.

“This summer, Ufa will host two major events. From August 11 to 23, our city will host the World Championship in wrestling, which will bring together more than 1,500 wrestlers from 65 countries. And on August 25, almost 3 thousand participants will come to the National Championship "Young Professionals" final. In addition, in September in Bashkortostan and throughout the country, elections of the deputies of the State Duma of Russia will take place,” Radiy Khabirov recalled. “All venues for these events should be under special control and round-the-clock security to prevent violations of public safety and sanitary and epidemiological standards.”

The Minister of Sports of Bashkortostan Ruslan Khabibov and the First Deputy Chairman of the Republican State Committee for Foreign Economic Relations and Congress Activity Lena Izotova spoke about the region's readiness to host mass sports and public events.

The chairman of the Central Election Commission of the republic, Ilona Makarenko, reported that 3,364 polling stations would open in the republic from September 17 to 19 at the elections to the State Duma, most of which have already been equipped and are being equipped with stationary frames of metal detectors. The rest of the polling stations, she said, will be equipped with hand-held metal detectors.
