1315 CCTV cameras and 230 touchscreen voting machines will be installed during elections to State Duma in Bashkiria
Voting in the elections of deputies of the State Duma of the eighth convocation and in other elections, referendums scheduled for September 19, 2021, this year will be held for three consecutive days — September 17, 18, and 19.
The chairman of the Central Election Commission of the republic, Ilona Makarenko, spoke about this at a press conference at the Bashinform News Agency. She noted that residents of the republic would also take part in the additional elections of deputies to the State Assembly in three districts, elections of deputies of the Ufa, Beloretsk, and Birsk city councils, and the Yumatovsky village council of the Ufa region.
The number of voters in the republic as of January 1, 2021, is 3,029,855 people. During the elections, it is planned to install 1315 CCTV cameras at 1315 precinct election commissions, and all 69 territorial election commissions will be equipped with them.
Ilona Makarenko explained that the complexes for processing ballots would be installed at precinct election commissions with the maximum number of voters.
The purchase of additional touchscreen voting machines this year is not provided; funds for this are not planned. Moreover, video surveillance will be installed at 40 percent of precinct election commissions.
Some changes also apply to the media work during the election period. This year's so-called "election silence" is shifted to Friday due to three-day voting. The day of silence will come at midnight on September 17, and election campaigning in the media is prohibited from September 17 to September 19.
In total, 3,364 precinct commissions and more than 29,000 members of election commissions will work in the republic on the election day.
