All-Russian Population Census will take place from October 1 to 31
The Russian Government has set the dates for the All-Russian Population Census — from October 1 to October 31, 2021.
In February of this year, the authorities preliminarily decided to conduct an All-Russian Сensus approximately in September to improve security, taking into account the ongoing pandemic.
A recent government decree sets new deadlines — from October 1 to 31, 2021.
As highlighted in the All-Russian Population Census media office, the new terms will allow adhering to the round of censuses recommended by the UN. In addition, by this time, most Russians will have returned home from their vacations.
Earlier, the statistical services of the USA, Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan, and some other countries announced a change in the timing of the census due to the epidemiological situation.
In these conditions, Rosstat pins special hopes on a new — digital — method of data collection.
In the course of the upcoming census, residents of Russia will be able to register themselves independently on the State Services portal, including in the offices of the MFC.
“Technologically, we are ready for a digital census: an IT system for collecting, transmitting, and processing data has been created and successfully tested, electronic tablets have been delivered to the regions and are ready for use,” Pavel Smelov, Deputy Head of Rosstat said.
