High school student from Bashkiria won silver at European Geography Olympiad
A ninth-grader from Bashkiria won silver at the European Geography Olympiad, which prepares schoolchildren-geographers for the International Geography Olympiad.
Earlier, Bashinform News Agency reported that the winner of the regional stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren, a 9th-grade student of gymnasium No. 17 of the city of Beloretsk, Vladislav Zaitsev, having passed all the qualifying stages of the Olympiad in geography, was invited as a candidate for the Russian national team to participate in the International event.
“This is a very high achievement of the schoolchildren of the republic,” the Minister of Education and Science of the region, Aybulat Khazhin, noted then.
Today the results of the Russian national team at the European Geographical Olympiad have become known. Schoolchildren from all over Russia won 12 medals at once. Vladislav Zaitsev has a well-deserved silver in the junior category (under 15).
