The Gzhel dance theater has long become a cultural landmark of Moscow. Guests of the Folkloriada will be able to see how the creations of folk craftsmen such as Gzhel, Palekh, Zhostovo, and Pavlovo Posad patterns come to life on the stage.
The Moscow State Academic Dance Theater "Gzhel" was founded in 1988 by the famous choreographer, People's Artist of Russia, Professor Vladimir Zakharov, for the 650th anniversary of one of the most recognizable Russian crafts — gzhel. Cultural, folk motives and images collected by Vladimir Zakharov throughout Russia formed the basis of many dances and song and dance patterns.
