United Russia channeled all resources to help people during pandemic - Dmitry Medvedev

The Head of Bashkortostan, secretary of the regional branch of the United Russia party, Radiy Khabirov, took part in a video conference of a joint meeting of the Supreme and General Councils of the party, led by the United Russia Chairman, Deputy Chairman of the country's Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.

Opening the meeting, the Chairman of the party noted that United Russia was on the verge of the most important event of this year — the 20th party congress, which will be held on June 19. It will approve the list of deputies to the State Duma and adopt an electoral program, on which the country's development in the next five years will largely depend.

The party Chairman highlighted the effective work of United Russia during the coronavirus pandemic. The party adopted laws to help those affected by the epidemic, sent proposals to the Government on implementing a plan for economic recovery, supporting citizens, businesses, and social non-profit organizations, and organized fundraising for everyone in need in the form of donations and membership fees.

In Bashkortostan, a single volunteer center "Nasha Zabota" (Our Care) at the regional branch of "United Russia" began work on March 20, 2020, uniting 25 large volunteer organizations of the republic, people of various views, ages, professions. During the period of the center's activity, more than 470 thousand residents received targeted social assistance.

The regional branch of the party has successfully implemented several projects within which low-income families and large families received free food packages. Volunteers distributed more than 1 million medical masks, delivered medicines to patients with COVID-19 who were treated at home, and chronically ill. Doctors working in the red zones also received support: volunteers took them from home to work and back as part of the Taxi.Zabota campaign provided them with hot meals and tea sets.
