USPTU and BSMU hit rating of 100 best universities in Russia according to RAEX
The Ufa State Petroleum Technical University (USPTU) and the Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) were included in the rating of the 100 best universities in Russia according to the RAEX agency (RAEX-Analytica). In total, the list includes universities from 31 regions of Russia; Moscow is the leader in terms of the number of participants.
When compiling the rating, the quality of education in universities, the demand for university graduates by employers, and the level of research activities were assessed.
The top five included Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, St. Petersburg State University, and National Research University Higher School of Economics.
USPTU took the 55th position in this list, Bashkir State Medical University — 91st.
The rating results showed that over the past year in the Russian Federation as a whole, the availability of higher education has increased, the percentage of first-year students in educational institutions from the RAEX-100 rating enrolled in state-financed programs has grown. However, at the same time, the restrictions caused by the pandemic slowed down the growth of the share of international students at Russian universities. Due to the closure of borders, the average share of students doing internships abroad has decreased. Also, in 2020, the funds attracted by universities through programs of additional professional education decreased.
The RAEX-100 rating of the best universities in Russia has been published annually since 2012.
