Share of second and subsequent children born was 28% in Bashkiria in 2020
In 2020, 41,180 children were born in the region (851 fewer than in 2019). The second and subsequent children in the family took a significant share of newborns. If in 2005 there were 13% of them, then in 2020 — 28%. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Bashkiria Anna Tabolina during the online lecture. Actually, the third children number has increased by 11%; this is more than 100 babies.
“In terms of large families, Bashkiria ranks fourth after Dagestan, Chechnya, and Moscow,” the deputy minister said.
Over the past three years, more than 46 thousand mothers with many children (with five or more children) live in the republic.
