Films about Sergei Dovlatov and Andrei Platonov will be shown for first time in Ufa
The films "Written by Sergei Dovlatov" and "The Secret Man" will be shown in Ufa, as part of the Dovlatov Festival "Literary Impulse" with the support of the Political Cinema Laboratory.
Spectators are welcomed in the Red Hall of the Rodina cinema on April 30. The first film starts at 15.00, the second — at 16.50. Free admission.
After the screenings, the films will be discussed with the participation of the creator of the films — director Roma Liberov (Roman Alexandrovich). The Russian director, curator, producer, founder, and director of the Ulysses Foundation for the Support and Preservation of Culture came to Ufa to participate in the "Conformism vs Freedom" conference, one of the days of which is dedicated to Sergei Dovlatov.
Roma Liberov is the author of several documentary-animated films about famous writers and poets, including "Written by Sergei Dovlatov" and "Intimate Man" in memory of Andrei Platonov. The film about Platonov was filmed in 2020, and Ufa residents will see the film among the first viewers.
Recall that Sergei Dovlatov was born in Ufa on September 3, 1941. At the same time, Andrei Platonov was in evacuation in the Bashkir capital, who wrote his first war stories here and adapted Bashkir fairy tales for the Moscow publishing house Detgiz (Children's Literature). Dovlatov wrote about the alleged meeting with Platonov in Ufa in the story "Craft". The houses in which the writers lived have survived.
Banner exhibitions dedicated to the works of Sergei Dovlatov will be open in the foyer of the main entrance and the foyer of the Green Hall of the Rodina cinema. It is also planned to present a video about the meeting of little Sergei Dovlatov and his mother with Andrei Platonov (State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company "Bashkortostan").
