New procedure to calculate subsistence rate in Bashkiria
In Bashkortostan, a new procedure for calculating the size of the subsistence minimum will be established. It will be based not on the consumer basket, as it is now, but on the value of the subsistence minimum per capita for the whole of the Russian Federation, adjusted for the territorial coefficient. The government will approve the territorial coefficients of the country. The Russian government will set the subsistence minimum per capita based on the median per capita income in the country for the previous year.
"With this approach, the subsistence rate will depend on the level of income of the majority of citizens and rise as the income of the country's population grows," Konstantin Tolkachev said.
Previously, the cost of living was calculated quarterly. With the adoption of the law, it will be established annually. The bill provides for a five-year transition period.
