Rodion Amirov signed contract with Toronto but will play for Salavat Yulaev
Young forward Rodion Amirov signed a contract with the NHL club Toronto Maple Leafs and immediately, Salavat Yulaev agreed with the overseas team to rent a forward according to the 1 + 1 system.
"After negotiations with Amirov, we came to a consensus that, first of all, for his personal development, it would be useful for the forward to spend the next two years at home, in the club's system. Therefore, a 1 + 1 player lease agreement was signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL). The team's coaching staff counts on Rodion's potential. In turn, the club will continue to create conditions for the professional growth of the young striker," Vasily Chizhov, sports director of HC Salavat Yulaev explained.
Last season, the Bashkir hockey trainee played 48 matches for HC Salavat Yulaev, having gained 13 (9 + 4) points, with "-2" and 12 penalty minutes.
