Seven Agidel hockey players and coach have been called up to Russian national team to compete in World Championship
Seven hockey players from the Ufa ice hockey team "Agidel" and head coach Denis Afinogenov have been called up to the Russian women's national team to prepare for and participate in the IIHF World Championship, which will be held in Canada from May 6 to 16.
On April 11, 28 hockey players are preparing for the international tournament at the Novogorsk training center, including the goalkeeper from the capital of Bashkiria Anna Prugova, defenders Maria Batalova and Anna Shibanova, forwards — Veronika Korzhakova, Ilona Markova, Elizaveta Rodnova, and Olga Sosina.
Note that defender Maria Pechnikova was also summoned to the team, but the Agidel player dislocated her shoulder and was unable to replenish the national team.
The girls will travel to Canada on April 22. After testing for the new coronavirus infection, the team will first have a quarantine and will play a friendly match against the US team on May 4.
According to the Russian Hockey Federation press service, at the preliminary stage, the Russians will play in "Group A" against teams from Switzerland, Finland, Canada, and the United States.

The quarterfinals will take place on May 13, the semi-finals on May 15. The medal games will be held on May 16.
