Bashkiria will consider possibility of increasing container transportation
The Head of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, instructed the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic to work with the regional enterprises on the possibility of increasing the volume of container transportation.
This decision was made following a working meeting between the Head of the Republic and the chairman of the board of directors of the "Delo" management company, president of the Russian Handball Federation, Sergei Shishkarev.
Prospects for container transportation development in the region were discussed at the meeting.
The President of PJSC "Transcontainer" Alexander Isurins, who took part in the meeting, spoke about the logistics capabilities of Bashkortostan for the transportation of large-tonnage container cargo from the republic to other regions of Russia and abroad.
"Transportation of large volumes of cargo over long distances in containers is the most optimal," Aleksandrs Isurins noted. "At the same time, the potential of Bashkortostan is much higher than the current share of 1.1 percent of the total volume of Russian container traffic."
"The enterprises of our republic are increasing the volume of the export of their products. Therefore, we are interested in the development of large-tonnage transportations, and container communications by rail or water in this regard are the most optimal for export to distant countries," Radiy Khabirov said.
