Economically active population was calculated in Bashkiria

The number of the labor force in Bashkiria aged 15 years and over in October — December 2020 exceeded 1.930 million people, statisticians of the republic cited data from a sample survey.

Of the 1.930 million people of the region's economically active population, almost 1.814 million people are employed in the economy, more than 116 thousand people were classified as unemployed.

In Russia as a whole, the number of labor force decreased by the end of last year to 75.184 million people. Of these, about 14.709 million people are in the Volga Federal District.

Meanwhile, the overall unemployment rate in Bashkiria in October — December 2020 fell to 6%.

"By the end of January 2021, 101.5 thousand unemployed citizens were registered with the employment service of Bashkiria. Of these, the number of officially registered unemployed amounted to 96.9 thousand people. More than 44 thousand people receive unemployment benefits. The level of registered unemployment was 5.1% of the labor force," the Bashkortostan Statistics Agency concluded.
