Media industry results for 2020 summed up in Ufa
The Bashkiria media industry results were summed up at a meeting of the Press and Media Agency board.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Bashkortostan Azat Badranov, heads of key industry enterprises – State TV and Radio Company "Bashkortostan", Publishing House "Bashkortostan Republic", Publishing House "Kitap" and the Bashinform News Agency took part in the work of the board.
First of all, journalistic professionalism and efficiency in covering sensitive issues related to the pandemic and combatting coronavirus were marked.
During the period of tough self-isolation, the number of views on the Bashinform News Agency website reached 20 million.
Besides, the board members drew attention to the high technical level and professional information support of outstanding events of the year, in particular, events in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory, the broadcast of the arrival in Ufa of the star of the Hero of Russia General Shaimuratov, the live broadcast of the final press conference of the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov and others.
The republic's print media have increased their presence on the Internet; 40 editions work non-stop, which is confirmed by the leadership in the Yandex top.
Since 2016, each subscription campaign in the republic ended with a reduction in periodicals' circulation by an average of 5 percent. This year, for the first time in the past five years, the total circulation of periodicals exceeded the same indicators of the previous year by 7%.
The economic block of the industry's work was discussed separately. Good practice in working with federal funds' attraction was marked — 44.6 million rubles were received from the federal budget in 2020 to implement socially significant projects.
The head of the Agency for Press and Media, Maxim Ulchev, emphasized that the industry's efficiency is measured in two main aspects. This is the audience covered by information influence and financial performance.
"We need to build a new economy, increase the attractiveness relating to the audience, informational and advertising visibility", Azat Badranov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB, said.
He recalled that the media form the recognition and authority of the republic. For example, Bashkortostan hit the top three regions of the Russian Federation most mentioned in the media in the context of national projects.
