Women make up 47% of employees in Bashkiria
At the beginning of 2020, 2.1 million women lived in Bashkiria — more than 53% of the total population. They constitute almost half of the labor force — 47%. The Bashkortostan Statistics Agency prepared a statistical sample for International Women's Day.
In the structure of employment, female labor prevails in education — 84%, healthcare, and social services — 81%, in wholesale and retail trade, hotels and public catering — 65%.
The average age of a working resident of Bashkiria is 41 years old. In 2020, the share of employed women under the age of 30 was 18%, at the age of 30-54 — 68%, over 55 — almost 14%.
38.5% of women employed in the economy have higher education (men — 25.5%), secondary vocational — 47.7% (men — 56.3%).
Girls make up more than half of students in universities, 52%, in colleges — 43%. There are many more girls among those receiving education in medicine, economics, management, education, culture, and art.
The life expectancy of women at birth in 2019 is 78 years (men — 67.3 years).
