1st International Festival of Slavic Folk Song "Unity" will be held in Ufa
The 1st International Festival of Slavic Folk Song "Unity" will take place in Ufa. It will be dedicated to the 95th birth anniversary of an outstanding Slavist, Doctor of Philology, Professor Leonid Vasiliev.
The festival organizers are the Polish Culture Center and Education RB and the A. Penkevich Polish Sunday School of Ufa together with the Honorary Consulate of Bulgaria in the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Bulgarian Cultural Institute (Moscow) with the support of the Assembly of the Peoples RB and the House of Friendship RB.
"Three online concerts are planned within the framework of the Slavic Literature and Culture Days, which are traditionally held in Bashkiria at the end of May, as well as the Day of Friendship and Unity of Slavs. If the epidemiological situation is favorable, the organizing committee reserves the right to hold an offline concert in Ufa", the Polish Culture Center informs.
Being an outstanding Slavist, Leonid Vasiliev was at the origins of creating the Polish Culture and Education Center of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the A. Penkevich Polish Sunday School of the city of Ufa.
Leonid Vasiliev made a significant contribution to the Regional Public Organization "Friendship of the Peoples of Bashkortostan — Bulgaria" of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In 2010, he was awarded the jubilee medal "65 years of Victory over Fascism" of the National Committee under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria for his huge contribution to the popularization of the Bulgarian language and culture.
