Semen Elistratov from Ufa became 15-time European Short Track Champion
Ufa athlete Semen Elistratov became the undisputed European champion in the Polish city of Gdansk. The representative of Bashkiria won three gold medals in the individual and multidiscipline events, as well as bronze in the relay race. Elistratov scored 71 points, ahead of Italian Pietro Sighel and the Netherlands' Itzhak de Laat. Thus, the short tracker from Ufa is recognized as the 15-time champion of the continental championship.
On the night of January 26, Semen Elistratov arrives in his native Ufa. Further, the athlete will prepare for the World Championship, which starts in the Dutch Dordrecht on March 5. Elistratov will train at the Ufa Short Track Center.
Elistratov's result is 1 minute 24.885 seconds. Silver went to Hungarian John-Henry Krueger (1.25,232), third place went to Itzhak de Laat from the Netherlands (1.25,280). Russian Denis Hayrapetyan was fifth (1.25,760). Earlier, Semen Elistratov won a gold medal at a distance of 1500 meters.
