Ufa biathlete Anton Babikov will miss start of World Cup in Finland
Ufa resident Anton Babikov will miss the start of the Biathlon World Cup in Kontiolahti due to a positive coronavirus test. The Russian Biathlon Union reported this after the decision of the Finnish medical authorities.
"Babikov will miss the start of the World Cup because of a positive coronavirus test, which was taken on November 24. Anton's isolation will last at least until December 1, inclusive.
Even though Garanichev's test was negative, Evgeny will be suspended until December 5 too, because he shared one number with Babikov," the union said in a statement.
At the same time, on November 27 and 28, the Russians, including another representative of the Bashkir sports, Eduard Latypov, will take routine tests for COVID-19. The final decision on lifting quarantine from the Russian national team has not yet been made.
