Bashkir baursak participates in "Tastes of Russia" competition

Bashkiria submitted 26 applications to the First National Competition for Regional Product Brands "Tastes of Russia", the Ministry of Agriculture of the republic reported. In total, there are 100 participants from the Volga Federal District, most of them in the "Sweets", "Meat", "Dairy Products" categories.
"Bulyak" agricultural enterprise from Fedorovsky district also participates in the competition with its baursak. Baursak is a national sweet flour dish; these are pieces of dough fried in deep fat and poured with honey.
Besides, such brands as Burzyansky wild-hive honey, Bashkir cream honey, korot (a dry-fermented milk product), kazy (dry-cured horsemeat), talkan (oat flour), dried ostrich fillet, Karaideli herbs, cheeses, mineral waters take part in the competition.
A popular vote will be held from November 19 to December 2, and its results will also be taken into account by the commission. The winners will be announced in December.
