Bashkir Opera presents first premiere of new season - Offenbach's operetta "Duchess.G"
The Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater has staged Offenbach's operetta Duchess.G. On October 31 and November 1, the premiere will become the 83rd theatrical season's first premiere.
We will remind that earlier, the agency reported about rehearsals of the operetta "The Duchess of Gerolstein", which is currently not represented in the repertoire of any theater in Russia.
"Our production is not an operetta in the stereotypical understanding that is usually implied by the genre: a beautiful fancy-dress performance, tailcoats, beautiful ladies' dresses with feathers and other attributes of traditional performances," said the director of the performance, Philip Razenkov. "Following Offenbach, we are hooligans, creating a world, the idea of which was inspired by Emir Kusturica. This is a bit of a farce with a completely non-operetta scene — a huge military hangar, in which everything is made from materials at hand and seems to be barely operating. This operetta will not be similar to any of those staged in our theater before."
