Bashkiria keeps lead in Volga Federal District in number of personal investment accounts
In terms of the number of personal investment accounts, Bashkiria still ranks first in the Volga Federal District and fifth in Russia, the National Bank reports, citing data from the Moscow Exchange.
There are currently 3 million such accounts registered at the Moscow Exchange, 1.35 million of which have been opened since the beginning of this year.
In the country as a whole, the volume of assets on personal investment accounts in the first half of 2020 increased by a quarter and reached 246 billion rubles.
Their main advantage — the possibility of obtaining tax incentives supports the public's interest in personal investment accounts.
In this case, the investor is given the right to one of two types of investment deductions for personal income tax: a deduction of 13% on the annual contribution of up to 400 thousand rubles (refund up to 52 thousand rubles annually) or exemption from taxation of the entire amount of income received from personal investment accounts (after closing an account).
"The growth in the number of personal investment accounts amid a decrease in rates on bank deposits testifies to the active investment behavior of the republic's residents. At the same time, it should be remembered that investments in the stock market involve risk; that is, money can be earned or lost," summed up the Governor of the National Bank for Bashkiria Marat Kashapov.
