Sugar beet harvest exceeded 1 million tons in Bashkiria
The sugar beet harvest in Bashkiria exceeded 1 million tons, the press service of the republican Ministry of Agriculture reports.
The average yield per hectare was 399 centners this year.
"To date, farmers have harvested 96 percent of the area or more than 27 thousand hectares," the press service of the Agrarian Department stated. “The largest amount of beets is traditionally collected by Chishminsky and Blagovarsky farms — 232 and 210 thousand tons, respectively. The Buzdyaksky beet growers are also close to the mark of 200 thousand tons."
Meanwhile, two sugar factories in Bashkiria — in Raevsky and Chishmy — received a total of 572 thousand tons of sweet root crops. Of these, 310 thousand tons have been processed at the moment.
