Local sugar production will almost cover annual demand in Bashkiria
In Bashkiria, 158 thousand tons of beets were exported to the Chishminsky and Raevsky sugar factories, more than 100 thousand tons were processed. The sugar content of root crops is very high — 18-19%, according to the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
The sugar content is checked every ten days from July, in the field, using a refractometer. The maximum sugar content is 25%, the minimum is 12%.
To date, beets have been harvested on 35% of the area (10 thousand hectares), the gross harvest is 353 thousand tons, the average yield is 356 centers/hectare (at the level of 2019).
According to experts' calculations, local factories will produce 180-190 thousand tons of sugar from the new crop of beets with the republic's needs of 91 thousand tons — more than 22 kg for each inhabitant of the region, with a norm of 24 kg per person.
