Radiy Khabirov and Rustam Minnikhanov walked along Lake Kaban in Kazan
Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov and President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visited today the embankment of Lake Kaban and saw the progress of reconstruction of one of the favorite recreation places of Kazan citizens. The excursion along the embankment was conducted by the assistant to the President of Tatarstan Natalia Fishman-Bekmambetova.
She said that the Kaban Lake system is a unique natural monument and the largest lake system in terms of water area (193 hectares) in Tatarstan. The embankment is being improved as part of the program for the development of public spaces in Tatarstan, the press service of the President of Tatarstan explained.
In May, a section on Mardzhani Street from the monument to Shigabutdin Mardzhani to Tatarstan Street was opened for citizens. In this territory, there is a lower deck near the Kamal theater, a boat rental, a developed pedestrian zone, and a bicycle trail.
This year the second stage of reconstruction is being completed. Several more cascades of phyto-treatment facilities, a multifunctional rowing school, a barbecue area, and a sports pier for functional training will be equipped.
Rustam Minnikhanov and Radiy Khabirov walked along the landscaped embankment, examined art objects, talked to vacationers, including tourists from Ufa, and also went down to the cascade of aquatic plants and a wooden pier.
Earlier in Kazan, the heads of the two regions took part in the unveiling of the Mustai Karim monument.
